Brandi Carlile and Brittany Howard are among the leading nominees for the 19th annual Americana Honors and Awards.
Carlile is up for six awards — Artist of the Year; Song of the Year twice with tracks for Tanya Tucker and The Highwomen; Album of the Year and Duo/Group of the Year as a member of The Highwomen; and another Album of the Year nomination as the co-producer of Tanya Tucker’s While I’m Livin’.
Howard is up for Album of the Year for her solo debut Jaime, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Stay High.”
Other nominees include Nathaniel Rateliff, the late John Prine, Yola, Black Pumas and Tyler Childers. The awards are scheduled for the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on September 16th, but organizers say that may change depending on COVID-19 regulations.
