Courtney Barnett has an instrumental album titled The End of the Day due out on September 8th.

It features tracks Barnett wrote for Anonymous Club, the documentary about her that was released in 2021. Check out a video for the first three tracks on the album — “Start Somewhere,” “Life Balance,” and “First Slow” — on YouTube.

Barnett has also announced that The End of the Day is the last release for her label Milk Records, which she launched in 2012. She told The Guardian that “A year ago or maybe even six months ago, thinking about [closing it] would’ve been so impossible and so difficult and I would’ve resisted. One day I literally just woke up and my mind had changed.”

She added that the artists on the label have been understanding of the decision. “I think nearly everyone was just like, ‘I totally get it … I don’t even know how you guys do it.’”
