Neil Young is Mad at Ticketmaster Too

Neil Young seems to hate Ticketmaster as much as most music fans do.

He posted a link on his Archives site to an article about Robert Smith of The Cure battling with the ticket giant to get fans refunds on fees that cost just as much as tickets.

Young headlined that post “Concert Touring Is Broken” and wrote, “TICKETMASTER FEES at 30%. It’s over. The old days are gone. I get letters blaming me for $3000.00 tickets for a benefit I am doing. That money does not go to me or the benefit. Artists have to worry about ripped-off fans blaming them for Ticketmaster add-ons and scalpers. CONCERT TOURS are no longer fun. CONCERT TOURS not what they were.”

The benefit Young seems to be referring to is Stephen Stills’s Light Up the Blues show on April 22nd at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Proceeds from the sixth edition of the concert will raise money for Autism Speaks.
