Kevin Parker of Tame Impala is following the old cliche “the show must go on” even though he has every reason to stay in bed.

Parker revealed in an Instagram post on Thursday morning that he’d recently fractured his hip. “Tried to run a half marathon on what turned out to be an existing stress fracture. Whoops. Made it to within 1 km of the finish line. That’s life I guess.”

The post also showed Parker’s trip to the hospital (which included a plane flight) plus the metal rod put in his hip to help the healing process.

But Parker isn’t going to be resting up. “All shows in Mexico and South America going ahead as planned. I’m not quitting on you guys.” Those shows start Friday in Mexico City and run through March 25th with Lollapalooza Brazil.
