65th Grammy Nominations Have Been Announced

With just four categories specifically covering rock and alternative music at next year’s 65th annual Grammy Awards, a lot fewer artists are nominated than in the past. Still, thanks to success in the four major categories, alternative and adult alternative artists will have pretty fair representation at the next awards show, set to take place in L.A. on February 5th, 2023.

Leading the pack of multiple nominees are Adele and Brandi Carlile with seven apiece, followed by Harry Styles with six. The Black Keys, Wet Leg, Turnstile and Bonnie Raitt with three and Coldplay, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Big Thief, Rufus du Sol, Lucius (with Carlile) and the duo of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, each with two.

Maneskin and Wet Leg scored Best New Artist nominations, Gayle was nominated for Song of the Year, and Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood is up for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Medium for his music for The Power of One.
