Sam Fender Cancels Upcoming Shows

Sam Fender has canceled his five upcoming North American shows to deal with his mental health.

Fender, an advocate for discussing mental health in both his songs and when he’s not performing, issued a statement on social media saying that he’s “neglected himself for over a year now and [hasn’t] dealt with things that have deeply affected [him]. He apologized to his fans and said that the state of his well-being “is starting to affect everything I do…including my performances. I refuse to go out there and not give it my all EVERY time, as you all deserve nothing less.”

The canceled appearances are three headlining shows in Portland, Seattle and Vancouver this month, an opening slot for Florence and the Machine at Madison Square Garden in New York and a set at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas.
