R.E.M.’s Debut EP To Receive 40th Anniversary Reissue

R.E.M. will reissue their debut EP, Chronic Town, on August 19th to mark its 40th anniversary.

The five song release will be available on vinyl, cassette and, for the first time, a stand alone CD. The EP was packaged as part of the Dead Letter Office CD when that rarities collection was first released in 1987.

The reissue comes with extensive liner notes from producer Mitch Easter. (Easter recently reunited with R.E.M. members Mike Mills and Peter Buck to produce the new album from their group The Baseball Project.)

Chronic Town was originally released on August 24th, 1982.
