Noel Gallagher Ponders an Oasis Recording Re-Do

Noel Gallagher says he could see himself re-recording songs from the Oasis catalog for an album.

This comes after he did a stripped-down take on “Live Forever” from the BBC earlier this month. Gallagher tells the Daily Star, “I would be interested in doing an album of reworks in the style of that version [of ‘Live Forever’]. A bunch of Oasis reworks might be nice to do.”

As for that version of “Live Forever” he did, Gallagher adds, “The original version is a young guy’s song who is singing it with his life in front of him. When I hit that chord, I was like, ‘Ah, this is like an old fella’s chord, who is looking back on his life.’”

In other Noel news, he revealed on his friend Matt Morgan’s Funny How? podcast that after he did his own set at Stella McCartney’s 50th birthday party in Buckinghamshire, England, he ended up joining her dad, Paul McCartney, on versions of The Beatles’ “Birthday” and “I Saw Her Standing There” while Ringo Starr watched from the side of the stage.
