That teasing Coldplay did on social media Tuesday linking fans to a site called Alien Radio was, as some fans expected, to promote a new single out on May 7th.

Thursday morning the band tweeted, “‘Higher Power’ is a song that arrived on a little keyboard and a bathroom sink at the start of 2020. It was produced by Max Martin, who is a true wonder of the universe.” Martin has produced 21 number-one singles, including smashes for Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Pink, Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift.
