The fifth release in David Bowie’s Brilliant Live Adventures series of 1990s concert albums is due out March 12th.
Something in the Air (Live Paris 99) was recorded on October 14th, 1999. It features 12 previously unreleased tracks and three songs that were used for B-sides on singles from the Hours album. It was only one of seven shows that Bowie did to promote Hours.
Bowie’s site says, “The day of the show was a momentous one for Bowie, as that afternoon he was awarded the Commandeurs of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the highest artistic honor that France can bestow.” Check out a video of “Drive-In Saturday,” a song Bowie hadn’t played live in 26 years before this show, on YouTube.
