Dave Grohl Will Host Streamed Show With His Mom

Dave Grohl is set to co-host a six-episode streamed series with his mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl.

From Cradle to Stage is based on Mrs. Grohl’s 2017 book about rock star moms, which has a similar, but much longer title, From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars.

The Foo Fighters frontman and ex-Nirvana drummer will also direct the show, which each week will spotlight a different musician along with his or her mother.

From Cradle to Stage is one of four music shows announced today (Wednesday) by Paramount Plus, but the only one that has not previously aired on MTV Networks. The other three are Behind the Music, Unplugged and Yo, MTV Raps. Premiere dates are not yet available for any of the shows.

A ViacomCBS executive tells Variety that it plans more new unscripted shows like From Cradle to Stage for Paramount Plus, as well as re-inventing some of its “most storied and impactful music franchises.”

Previously known as CBS All Access, the Paramount Plus app will debut on March 4th.
