Brandi Carlile’s Memoir Will Be Out in April

Brandi Carlile’s memoir Broken Horses is set to be released on April 6th.

Carlile has been working on the book while she’s been off the road this year and said that writing her life story has inspired some songs for her next album. Broken Horses covers her contracting bacterial meningitis as a five year old, coming out as a teenager and having her pastor refuse to baptize her because of her sexuality, plus stories detailing her Grammy-winning music career.

The book’s publisher says, “Broken Horses is at once an examination of faith through the eyes of a person rejected by the church’s basic tenets and a meditation on the moments and lyrics that have shaped the life of a creative mind, a brilliant artist, and a genuine empath on a mission to give back.”
