Bono could be the next major artist to publish a memoir.
He signed a deal with Penguin Random House and is said to be close to finishing the book. However, it was originally scheduled to be published last year, so no telling when it will be out.
Bono is writing it by himself, which, if history is any indication, is not an easy task.
In 2005, following the publication of U2 By U2, he said he didn’t enjoy looking back on his life and career.
“I hate it. It’s like pulling teeth,” he said. “I’m much more interested in the future than the past. But we thought it was time to take a deep breath, accept we’ve done some interesting stuff, wrap it up in a bow and put it out there.”
Bono would be the first member of U2 to write his autobiography.
