The Decemberists have announced an ongoing series of archival live albums they’re calling the “Live Home Library.”

They’ll kick off the series with an August 2009 show from Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan, at which they performed their album The Hazards of Love start to finish. The double black or “bone” colored vinyl LP sets are available for pre-order now on their band’s own label through their web store, with the initial release arriving December 4th. They come with an oral history of the tour from all its participants, along with photos from the tour.

The albums will initially be available only on vinyl, but the band eventually expects to “migrate to digital.” They say “more volumes will follow, hopefully touching on every era of the band’s 20-year long career.”
