The Smashing Pumpkins to Release a Double Album in November

The Smashing Pumpkins will release their first double album in 25 years on November 27th.

The 20 song collection is called Cyr and it was produced by frontman Billy Corgan. There’s also a new five-part animated series called In Ashes that leads up to the album’s release. The first two episodes “As The Crow Flies” and “Inspirations, Aspirations” will be out on September 25th and feature songs from Cyr. Check out a trailer for the series on YouTube.

The last Pumpkins double album, 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, is the band’s biggest selling album around the world, with over five-million copies sold in the U.S., and brought them seven Grammy nominations and one win for Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bullet With Butterfly Wings.”
