The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s new social justice exhibit, It’s Been Said All Along: Voices of Rage, Hope & Empowerment, opens on Saturday.
Inductees of the exhibit includes Chuck Berry, Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, James Brown and Aretha Franklin, who were trailblazers in speaking up for dignity and equality.
Among the artifacts displayed are the handwritten lyrics from rapper D Smoke‘s “Let Go,” a song that was recorded hours before the killing of George Floyd, and made for an impactful live performance at this year’s BET Awards.
The opening celebration will feature special spoken word and live music performances on the plaza at Rock Hall.
