Jack White’s Third Man Records to Issue Previously Unreleased Johnny Cash Live Album

A previously unreleased concert recording by Johnny Cash will be released by Jack White‘s Third Man label on July 31st, as the 45th offering in the label’s Vault Series.

Johnny Cash: A Night To Remember was recorded in 1973 during a special week of concerts in L.A. presented by then-Columbia Records head Clive Davis that also included shows by Bruce Springsteen and Miles Davis, among others.

The hit-filled Cash set took place on April 29th at the Ahmanson Theater and features guest appearances by his wife, June Carter Cash, and Carl Perkins.

The album will come out as a two-record “vintage white” vinyl set and will be available to order through Third Man until midnight on July 31st.

In other label news, the company just released the fifth episode of their Third Man Public Access – From Home video series. The hour-long YouTube video includes an appearance by Jack White with Tenacious D (at 14:41) and an at-home cover of The Beatles “Rain” by Raconteur Brendan Benson and Robyn Hitchcock (at 22:40).
