Mumford and Sons: A Benefit Take on “Alone”

Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons has released a cover of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to raise money for a pair of organizations helping vulnerable people during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Rodgers & Hammerstein show tune was originally recorded for Ted Lasso, an upcoming show starring Jason Sudeikis about an American soccer coach in England. Mumford is working on the score for the show, which will be out this year. The song has been the unofficial anthem of the Liverpool football team and this year has been used to rally medical professionals fighting the pandemic.

Proceeds from the track go to Grenfell Foundation and Warchild U.K.
