Fiona Apple reveals the title of her new album, and shares some interesting stories from her past, in a New Yorker interview.
Apple says that Fetch the Bolt Cutters is something Gillian Anderson says in the British TV series The Fall after finding the locked door to a room where a girl has been tortured. She hasn’t shared a release date but does say that it’s been pushed back a few times.
Apple also talks at length about her drug-fueled romance with director Paul Thomas Anderson, saying she quit cocaine after a miserable night with Anderson at Quentin Tarantino’s house. “Every addict should just get locked in a private movie theater with Q.T. and P.T.A. on coke, and they’ll never want to do it again.”
