Pearl Jam, Blondie: Drumming is the Plan

Matt Cameron of Pearl JamClem Burke of Blondie and Joe Plummer of Cold War Kids are among the seven drummers part of a new project called Plan D.

The project is headed up by producer Toshi Kasai, who’s turned the drum beats played by the various musicians into a medley of music by using triggered analog synths. Plan D will release four limited-edition 12-inch EPs this year, with the first called SW available now at the Joyful Noise website.

Cameron says, “This amazing collection of drum vignettes is a perfect example of how Toshi hears the music in our rhythmic patterns. I am not sure how he did it, something including MIDI I presume, but none of that matters. Plan D stands on its own as a completely new musical entity and I’m super proud to be a part of it.”
