When Prince passed away, longtime fans could only hope that the vaults would be opened up so they could hear some of the music that was rumored to be locked away. The first deluxe reissue of a Prince album came in the form of an expanded Purple Rain in 2017. Now comes word that another classic album, 1999, will get the deluxe edition treatment.
In addition to a remaster of the original album, the extra discs add radio edits, b-sides, songs from the vault, and live show, including one from November of 1982 in Detroit.
The 5 CD+DVD, 10 vinyl LP, 2CD, and 4 LP deluxe editions are scheduled for release on November 15.
