Iggy Pop will release Free, his 18th studio solo album, on September 6th.

In a somewhat cryptic statement, Pop says, “This is album in which other artists speak for me, but I lend my voice.” He explains that after touring behind his last album, he was drained and felt like he wanted to “put on shades, turn his back, walk away and be free.” He adds that this album “just kind of happened” to him. The somber, jazzy and under-two-minute title track is on YouTube.
