Bruce Springsteen Has a Shot at EGOT

Springsteen on Broadway is up for two Emmy Awards — Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for Bruce‘s long-time video collaborator, Thom Zim ny.

The show will face Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool and Beyonce‘s Homecoming in both categories, making it a long shot to win either.

But if Springsteen were to win, he’d become the 22nd artist to earn what’s called the “EGOT” — an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. He won a Tony last year for Springsteen on Broadway, grabbed an Oscar for Best Original Song in 1994 for “Streets of Philadelphia,” and has collected 20 Grammys throughout his career.
