Jack White: Plays Baseball to Restore Stadium

Jack White was joined by a bunch of friends — including Raconteurs bandmate Brendan Benson — for a charity baseball game yesterday in Hamtramck.

The game was at Hamtramck Stadium, the former home of the Negro League Detroit Stars. Proceeds from the game went to Friends of Historic Hamtramck Stadium, an organization White helped launch earlier this year to restore one of the few remaining major Negro League ballparks in the U.S. White’s team was called the Warstic Woodmen, named for the sporting goods company founded by former pro baseball player Ben Jenkinsthat has White as a part owner.
