Just announced, Jack White’s Third Man Records plans an August 2nd release of performances from the landmark Ann Arbor Blues Festival in 1969. Available as a two CD set or two individual LPs on 180 gram vinyl, the compilation will feature blues legends Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, T-Bone Walker, B.B. King and so many more.
Recorded across the three days of the festival in August of 1969 two weeks before Woodstock, this set has been compiled from ¼” tape recordings done by some of the blues-obsessed U of M student organizers.
