Wilco: Tweedy Teases New Music

Jeff Tweedy dropped a hint that Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival appearances next weekend will include some new music from the band.

Tweedy told Rolling Stone that, “The second show, I think, maybe we’ll try and showcase a new song or two,” adding that “we’ve been getting together to do some studio recording. You’ll be hearing about that pretty soon.”

Tweedy says the band is pretty excited to be performing and recording together after a year-and-a-half hiatus. He explained, “I think [it] revitalized everyone’s energy for the band, and our interest in pushing forward and not just resting on some past output. Everybody in the band is pretty ambitious. It’s good to let go of something that’s a huge, identifying part of your life, and realize that you still have deep affection for it and a deep interest in having it be a living, breathing entity capable of surprising you.”

The Solid Sound Festival, with two headline sets by Wilco, is set for June 28th through the 30th in North Adams, Massachusetts.
