Stone Temple Pilots: 25 Years of Purple

Stone Temple Pilots‘ second album, Purple, will be reissued in multiple formats on September 13th.

The two-CD or digital Deluxe Edition has a remastered version of the album plus a second disc with six demos, their cover of “Dancing Days” by Led Zeppelin, a live acoustic set and an acoustic studio take on “Big Empty,” which is out digitally now. The Super Deluxe Edition adds a live concert from 1994 and the album on vinyl.

Purple’s actual 25th anniversary is tomorrow (Friday). It’s the only number-one album of the band’s career and went on to sell over six-million copies in the U.S. It spawned two number-one rock hits — “Vasoline” and “Interstate Love Song.”
