Dave Matthews Band: Honored by the UN

Dave Matthews Band has been named a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations Environment Programme to mark World Environment Day today.

It’s the first time an entire band has been honored this way. They were selected for the work done by their BamaGreen Project, which includes a sustainability program to mitigate the environmental toll of touring and of the fans attending their shows. The project was launched in 2005 with Reverb, the environmental organization co-founded by Adam Gardner of Guster. Reverb was also honored by the UN and named the UN Environment’s Music and Public Engagement Partner.
