Fans of The Cure will get to see more than just their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year — they’ll get a new album too.
Robert Smith appeared on The John Maytham Show in South Africa to promote their concerts in the country this week and said, “We’ve enjoyed [the shows] and we’ve just recorded a new album for the first time in 10 years.” Smith didn’t add many details, except to say, “We cover different styles of music, but because it’s us doing it, it sounds like us.”
The Cure’s last album was 2008’s 4:13 Dream. They’ll be inducted into the Rock Hall on March 29th in Brooklyn, New York.
