Queen have another notch in their achievement belt — “Bohemian Rhapsody” is the most-streamed track from the 20th century with more than 1.6 billion global streams.  It is also the most-streamed classic rock song of all time as it surpassed Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’Mine” and “November Rain.”

This data is based on all registered streams on global on-demand streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer, as well as streams from official song or video streams on YouTube.

Commenting on the achievement, Queen guitarist Brian May says, “So the river of rock music has metamorphosed into streams! Very happy that our music is still flowing to the max!”

In 2004, “Bohemian Rhapsody” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. And with the success of the movie of the same name, it re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 last month at number-33 for its third appearance on the chart. It also climbed to number-41 on the Streaming Songs chart with a 77-percent surge to 13.3 million U.S. streams.
