Brandi Carlile is one of the leading nominees for the 61st annual Grammy Awards.
She has six nominations in all, including three of the top four categories — Album of the Year (for By the Way, I Forgive You), Record of the Year (for “The Joke”) and Song of the Year (for “The Joke,” along with co-writers Dave Cobb, Phil Hanseroth and Tim Hanseroth).
She’s also up for Best American Roots Performance for “The Joke,” Best American Roots Album for By the Way, I Forgive You and Best American Roots Song for “The Joke.”
Other acts with multiple nominations include Beck, Arctic Monkeys, St Vincent and Chris Stapleton, who each got two. Other acts in contention come February include Eric Clapton, David Byrne, Leon Bridges, Anderson East, John Prine, Jeff Tweedy, Ben Harper, Ziggy Marley and Sting.
The Grammy Awards are set for February 10th in Los Angeles.
