After releasing a cover of “Back on the Chain Gang” by The Pretenders as a single, Morrissey’s decided to do an entire album of other people’s songs.

He recorded California Sun in California earlier this year with producer Joe Chiccarelli. Among the songs he covers are Bob Dylan’s “Only a Pawn in Their Game,” Joni Mitchell’s “Don’t Interrupt the Sorrow,” Roy Orbison ‘s “It’s Over” and one that’s rather surprising — Gary Puckett and the Union Gap’s “Lady Willpower.”

There’s no release date yet for the collection, but it’s expected out in the first half of 2019.
