Jack White Is King Of The Vinyl

Jack White has helped vinyl sales notch another gain this year.

Billboard reports that first-half of 2018 sales were 19.2 percent higher in the U.S. than in the first six months of 2017. White’s latest studio effort, Boarding House Reach, is the biggest seller so far in the first six months of the year — 37,000 copies.

Record Store Day also helped spur vinyl sales, as 733,000 records were sold in the week ending April 26th — a new high for Record Store Day week, and the third-largest weekly figure for vinyl since SoundScan was launched in 1991.
