Ryan Adams: What to Give the People Next

Ryan Adams doesn’t know what to release next, so he’s reached out to fans for feedback.

He tweeted an image of his solo debut, Heartbreaker, with the caption, “I wrote this album. I have 17 new songs. I have four records on a shelf. Does anyone want to hear: Prisoner 2 & 3? Black HoleLive at Capitol Theater with The Infamous Stringdusters? Exile on Main Street cover live and rehearsal? I’m just asking to see if maybe I’m crazy and no one does.”

Adams timeline filled up with more than 1000 responses, with many fans asking him to release all five projects. Prisoner 2 and 3 were recorded during the same sessions as 2017’s PrisonerBlack Hole is a long-shelved album that is a holy grail for many fans, as it was reportedly recorded over a decade ago while he was still on drugs. The show with bluegrass group The Infamous Stringdusters, from July 24th, 2016, featured such interesting covers as Slayer’s “South of Heaven” and Black Sabbath’s “The Wizard.” And The Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street tribute took place in New Orleans this past May.
