Dave Matthews Band: Seventh Number-One Album

Dave Matthews Band‘s Come Tomorrow racked up impressive first-week numbers and became the group’s seventh consecutive number-one on the Billboard 200.

The seven consecutive chart-toppers are a record for any group. The album tallied 292,000 equivalent album units, of which 285,000 were in traditional album sales.

According to Billboard, it’s the biggest sales week for a rock album since Coldplay‘s Ghost Stories, which sold 383,000 first-week copies more than four years ago. It’s also the biggest sales week for any album this year. The last album with better single-week sales was Reputation by Taylor Swift, which shifted 1.2 million copies in one week last December.
